Shopping malls tend to be overcrowded during weekends hence the idea to find a nice & quiet café to spend our time, little did we know Spruce gets crowded on weekends too. There were definitely enough seats though, with both outdoor & indoor seating.

Had Eggs Benny (SGD15) which consisted of corn waffle, back bacon & hollandaise sauce. It also came with a generous portion of salad which I really love albeit the salad dressing was a tad too sour. The poached eggs were alright but hollandaise sauce wasn’t to my liking; Hatched definitely has the better sauce in my opinion. Best part of the dish was the corn waffle, I’m a huge fan of corn, just love the crunchy bites & having them in waffles was surprisingly good. Jia Wei tried the Soft Scrambled Eggs (SGD18) which consisted of avruga caviar and smoked salmon. Most of the time I avoid anything smoked as it tends to get very salty, but I must say the smoked salmon made a perfect match with the scrambled eggs. Sadly, both of us just couldn’t appreciate the taste of caviar.

Didn’t order any desserts (surprise surprise) as most were chocolate desserts which I don’t really like. The prices are to the high side taking into account the serving size but it’s worth a visit! Will probably head back there on a weekday instead since I’ve tried the weekend brunch.
