D.I.Y LUNCH BAG CLUTCH

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

An extremely outdated D.I.Y inspired by Jil Sander’s lunch bag, but better late than never. Using the same piece of PU leather from here & there’s still some left, which means more coming up! Main reason for rushing the clutch out is because, as ridiculous as it might sound, I need to pair it with my Dr. Martens. Realised that I lack a burgundy/ maroon bag to go with my shoes & thus this was born.

You'll need: PU Leather, Snap Fasteners, Scissors, Pen. Ruler, Thread & Needle.

1. Fold the PU leather into half with folded sides at the bottom. Draw out sides of the clutch with a base of 10 cm (own preference).

The final look.

As usual I hand stitched it instead of using the sewing machine. For me I wanted a broader base so as to fit my camera & of course, many other stuffs; do change the measurements accordingly if you prefer a slimmer base. The clutch is definitely longer than it’s supposed to be but I guess rolling the excess length down gives it another look too. Added two snap fasteners to secure the closing instead of just relying on the rollings i.e.  to prevent spilling of stuffs when dropped, you’ll never know when it’ll happen. Personally I love the look of the clip clipped on the top just like the one from Ivania but first, time to source for a nicer looking clip!
