Met up with dear Jamie a few days ago & we decided to indulge a little with brunch at Wild Honey @ Mandarin Gallery. No reservations allowed & since it was a Monday, we thought there shouldn’t be a lot of people, least to say a queue. We were totally wrong. Reached around 1330 & had to wait for around fifteen minutes as were second in line. Unlike many places, you have to place your order at the counter. Here comes the part I
dislike hate – the menu was a freaking iPad. Imagine having to swipe to-and-fro just to compare which breakfast you prefer as opposed to having a menu that shows all at one glance. Sorry but the iPad was a major failure in my opinion.
On to the breakfasts. I had European (SGD19), Jamie had Tunisian (SGD19) & we ordered Belgian (SGD19) as dessert. Love the hollandaise sauce on European and the poached eggs were good. Sadly I can’t seem to appreciate the parma ham, it just has a taste that’s not very much to my liking. Tunisian was a tad salty but I guess it goes well with their signature toast, which by the way, is really delicious. Last but not least, Belgian was simply awesome. The waffles were thick and fluffy, which goes well with the coconut cream and maple syrup. We both enjoyed it despite being almost full. Then again, there’s always stomach for desserts, agreed?
There’s a second outlet @ Scotts Square which allows reservations but lesser variety available if I’m not wrong. Pricing wise it’s certainly not cheap, but I’ll head back to try the other breakfasts when I’m feeling rich.
Wild Honey is all about beautiful breakfast. All day, everyday.
