In May 2000, the New2U Thrift Shop opened its doors. The Shop is managed entirely by volunteers, some of whom have been volunteering with New2U for many years. The shop sells pre-loved clothing, accessories, household items, oraments, books and etc. All goods are donated, and prices start from as low as S$1.00. Proceeds from the store go towards Star Shelter and the various SCWO Initiatives.
I’d say they do have a wide variety of items but I mainly looked at the clothes. Here’s the thing about thrifting, you got to look through every single piece on the racks & when you finally found that one item, it just feels amazing. Chanced upon branded items at really cheap price & for Love, Bonito fans out there, I actually found quite a bit of their items that still has their tag on. Prom-worthy dresses at SGD10 & since it’s brand new, why not? Sadly I’m way over the age for prom, for girls on really tight budget, you might want to check them out.
Lucky for me, I saw a magenta midi which I really like & best part? It’s in my size; paired here if you haven’t seen it. Priced at SGD8 & since it was Half-price Tuesday for Students, got it for SGD4. They have daily & monthly promotions so do check out their website for more information! Last but not least, take note that they are only open on Monday-Friday (1030-1430), which means you’ve got to plan your thrifting early!
P.S.: Brought a bag of preloves along with me for donation.
