Something Old Something New (SOSN) is a social enterprise wholly owned by Simei Care Centre. The social cause of SOSN is to provide employment opportunities for members with psychiatric disabilities which assists them in their journey towards long-term recovery. The sale proceeds will be channeled back to Simei Care Centre to support the psychiatric rehabilitation services and workshops that are beneficial to our clients.
Started back in 2000, SOSN has to be one the largest thrift store I’ve been to in Singapore. The variety is huge, which meant more digging & flipping through of items. They do have a large collection of coats & blazers which I was very tempted to get but sadly, all were a little too oversize. Maybe better luck next time? Of course I didn’t leave empty-handed, bought a ribbed knitted high neck top in navy blue for SGD4.20 (after year-end 30% discount).
Visited the one located in Simei, directly opposite Changi General Hospital. There’s two other outlets in Bedok & Pasir Ris. Do plan a trip down during your free time! I’d say it’s worth the ‘digging’ time.
