Had a huge craving for Strawberry Shortcake the other day and Lady M was nearby, thus we made our way there for some indulgence. Imagine the sadness when told what we wanted was sold out for the day. Settled for three slices in the end – Vanilla Mille Crêpes, Gâteau aux Marrons and Strawberry Mille Feuille. Can’t remember exactly the individual prices but each slice’s averaged about SGD8-SGD9.
The cakes were good and I can’t wait to go back for a second visit to try their Strawberry Shortcake. The Crêpes are a twist to the usual sponge cake; the boy and I even went to dismantle it just to count the number of layers. The almond cake (Gâteau aux Marrons) had some raisin/ wine taste to it which isn’t really to our liking, thus this is ranked the last of the three. As usual, am not a chocolate person so there wasn’t many choices in the first place.
There seem to always be a queue outside so I guess the cakes do have a certain popularity. I won’t say it’s pricey as the slices are actually bigger than usual which I feel is worth it. Do head down when you’re in the mood for some high tea!
